Cruise on the Mekong
Welcome aboard the Vat Phou--launched in Vientiane in January 1993--for an exceptional cruise along the "Mother of Water" down to the wild paradise of "4,000 islands."
The Vat Phou is a 34-meter-long steel-hull barge converted into a wooden tropical floating hotel. This project was developed in partnership with the World Bank.
On deck, a comfortable bar welcomes you with cushions, chairs, sofas and fresh drinks. The large front deck is a perfect area for relaxing. On the lower deck, an air-conditioned restaurant offers you typical Lao food as well as continental cuisine.
Each room contains two 90-centimeter-wide beds, a dressing table, a wardrobe, and a private bathroom.
Vat Phou departs from Pakse every Saturday and Wednesday for Champasak, Wat Phou, Khong Island, Phapheng and Ounmoung. For details contact Managing Director Gilles Boute, Indocruise, telephone or fax (856) 21-412740, or write POB 4415, Vientiane, Laos.
